8 September was declared international literacy day by UNESCO on 26 October 1966. It was celebrated for the first time in 1967. Its aim is to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals, communities, and societies.

The SSST Gymnasium also celebrated this year's International Literacy Day. Second-grade student Sara Humić prepared a video for Bosnian classes on the importance of this day.  

“Perfect your speaking and writing skills, because that is the first impression you make on others.", said Sara.
